Adult Swim's Leading New Show of 2025 Gets a Substantial Renewal for Seasons 2 and 3.

Last October, the late-night programming block welcomed back its quirky hit, Smiling Friends. But, shortly thereafter, the channel introduced a brand-new animated series with a distinctly unique feel. Haha, You Clowns proved to be gentle and comforting, reminiscent of a animated take of a laid-back talk show. During a period often defined by dark humor, this show's sincerity found an audience and turned it into a breakout hit.

A Major Commitment

On December 18th, the network made a major announcement: Haha, You Clowns has been greenlit for two additional seasons. This offers showrunner Joe Cappa ample opportunity to further explore the world of the Campbell family. The series follows three polite teenage brothers whose primary trait is their profound affection for their single father, with Cappa providing the voices for all four key characters.

"My deepest thanks go to the audience of the show who gave *Haha, You Clowns* a chance and shared it with others," said Cappa. "I’m incredibly thrilled that I get to hang out at the Campbell household for a little longer."

A President's Endorsement

In the same announcement praise from Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen, who described the series as "profoundly sincere and strangely uncanny." He specifically highlighted the fans who found the show and supported its distinctly quirky style.

"All of you got behind this new show, championed for it on social media, and grew it week over week so we could greenlight not one, but two more seasons," said Ouweleen. "To quote: 'You are strong! You are loved!'"

A Wholesome Alternative

When it first aired, Haha, You Clowns was hailed as "a wholesome alternative" to more cynical adult animated fare. There’s something unexpectedly cozy about observing this lovable family go about their everyday routines.

Previously, creator Joe Cappa expressed his goal to move the comedy genre beyond its prevailing sarcastic tone. He linked this trend to various cultural shifts.

“There's this level of irony that we keep returning to,” noted Cappa. “It's like we have to know we’re the smartest person in the room when we're watching stuff. I feel like we've been doing this for 10 years, and we must laugh at something different now. It's time for comedy to grow.”

What Comes Next

Now, with Haha, You Clowns set to continue, Cappa has the opportunity to be part of that comedic shift. Or at the very least, the renewal ensures audiences more opportunities to enjoy the heartfelt moments of the endearing Campbell clan.

The final episode of Season 1 of Haha, You Clowns airs on December 21st. The complete first season is ready to watch on HBO Max.
